Hair Pipeline For Games - From Fibermesh to LowPoly
This beginners tutorial gives you an overview of the process of making low poly hairs for casual games. I will walk you through the first steps of setting up Fibermesh in Zbrush, through converting it in low-poly geometry in 3dsmax to painting flow maps the most time efficient way in Photoshop.
Topics covered:
⦁ Fibermesh settings and Groom brushes.
⦁ Export from Zbrush to 3dsmax.
⦁ Turning splines in geometry with variable width via script.
⦁ Retopo tools in 3dsmax.
⦁ Painting flow map in Photoshop for anisotropic highlights.
This tutorial shows you the general pipeline from finish to end - the big picture. It doesn't explain every single button and process in detail so some basic knowledge of Zbrush, 3dsmax and Photoshop won't hurt.
Tutorial length is 33min. It is edited video with overlays and explanations. Everything redundant is removed so you can watch the entire process in condense format and don't waste your time with repeating stuff.
Note that the voice over is in Bulgarian language, but included is carefully written subtitle file in English and following the tutorial with it is easy and clear.
If more people are interested in English voice over - I'll update the product. If there are certain topics that interests the majority of you, I'll record additional videos and will include them as a bonus. So don't hesitate to send me some feedback.
